Will the $8,000 First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit Be Extended?

Please extended the tax credit to another 45-90 days. There are a lot of people who were not ready to make such a long commitment in buying the biggest purchase of your life time when the tax credit initial started. My name is Shernell and my husband and I have done everything that was asked of us from our Realtor. We have cleaned up our credit, as well as paid off some bill, and paid some bills down. It would be nice to be able to come ahead after we have done our part in the home buying process. I think that the tax credit should be for all first time home buyers, and not be limited to a time frame. This may rush people in to settling in a home that they may not necessary love just to get the tax credit. We have searched for houses at least 1 1/2 years, and have finally found the home that fits most of what we are looking for, and it has the space we need. Please consider from the stand point of those first time buyers who missed out on the tax credit, because of circumstances that are not always are fault. We would like the opportunity just like thousands of other people to be able to have nice things, or pay more things off with the tax credit. We work just like everyone does, and deserve the right to have a break.

It is my usnderstanding that over 200,000 first time home buyers loans have not been approved by the lenders underwriters. An extension of 15 t0 30 days are needed so that the lenders can clear their backlog of loan approvals. It is not the buyers fault the the lenders like Well Fargo can not get their act together

Here is a CNBC article on "Senate backs extending deadline for Housing Tax Credit". I would contact your lender confirming this new extended deadline date.

I have been patiently searching for a home since Feb, but it wasnt until April 27th when I found a home that I truely loved. I did everything that was necessary of me. It was the mortgage Company, and the Title Company dragging their feet, not to mention I have a passive Realtor who doesn't say anything. I have done all the leg work, and here it is the deadline and I have still not closed. I have considered walking away but I love the home to much to. It would be nice to have the credit, so I can have a safety net. I spent all the money that I had, for the home inspector, appraiser, earnest money, and for Down Payment.

I am trying to buy a condo but I will not able to close it by June 30. Because bank and condo association taking long times to do their job. If I will not get tax credit then I can not buy that condo. Because there have some works need to be done before move. So please extent the closing date.

I have been in contract to purchase a condo from April 2010 and I have been waiting patiently for the short sale approval. I will not be able to complete the purchase as of June 30th. Please extend the deadline for closing because I will not be able to go forward if this is not done as I need the tax credit from the government.
