How Would You Fix the Airlines?

I have a great solution despite the fact I'm not in big business, or a high folluttin' money grubbin' pollitician. I'm one of the lowly people that have to actually pay the fee, not a frequent flyer, 1 st class flyer, just an ordinary person who likes to travel. My suggestion for fixing the problem? Book my flights through airlines that don't charge the fee.....If we don't use, they can't abuse....(Not as much anyway)....How about alternative transportation....AmTrak isn't charging for extra bags....Just a thought

Formulate a business model that is practical, profitable, and readily implementable. Then just do it! Don't worry about what the competition is doing

-become the competiton.

Watch Continental Airlines. They have the right attitude, relationships, and know the market better than many.

And they still serve "free" meals!

Fairly priced airline tickets are an integral part of the US economy. The industry may need to go back into government regulation. They've shown themselves to be completely incapable of staying solvent without huge infusions of cash by the government. If we have to pay for tickets and give them our tax dollars, we might as well run them also.

Reduce the over-saturated capacity at the regional level. Replace the fuel guzzling, inefficient regional jets with economic large turbo-props.
