Horrible handsome terrible pigs, every one of 'em! To think our mothers had to put up with that.

Sorry jofr, you have your actors mixed up with real people. Greg House is a character played by an actor. Lines written by a writer.

Although I would never work for him,Gordon Ramsey IS the real restaurant world. I doubt seriously if any lines are written for him. As far as kicking his ass, you'd better bring your lunch. Before becoming a chef he was a professional soccer player.

Chef Gordon Ramsay must die! I could not work for him for five minutes. The way he treats people should be a crime, the first rant or cheap shot directed at me, I'd kick his ass. He would have already been lynched in the real restaurant world. I feel no pity for the people on his show thogh. They are spineless, and it is all self inflicted.

Greg House on the other hand is at least consistantly, underhandedly jerky. It's as though he wants some one to dish it back.

Hm, I thought that needed a follow-up.

I actually DO think that Greg House is a "worse" boss than Tony Soprano in a real sense: House is unpredictable, inconsistent, and gratuitously nasty. With Soprano, if you do what you're supposed to do, you have a reasonable expectation of being paid and not being abused. Mostly. With House, you have NO idea what's going to happen next, no matter what you do. That would have to be an intolerably stressful working environment.

[Of course, the consequences of annoying Tony Soprano are much greater, and I really have no idea what it'd be like to think that your boss might one day decide to feed your head to the guard dogs while you were still using it.]

Greg House.

Of course, in the real world, he'd have been fired at the beginning of season 1, no matter how good he is at diagnosis. But in fiction, we love the things that we'd hate in the real world.
