Video Résumés Are a Really Bad Move

"No." That's what nearly 60 percent of executives recently answered in a Robert Half International survey when asked if they accept video résumés.

About 1 in 4 said the screen-time sell was OK. That figure actually seems surprisingly high.

What's the uncomplicated takeaway here? If you're trying to impress, Robert Half CEO Max Messmer advises:

Writing error-free resumes targeted to each job opening, crafting customized cover letters that succinctly explain why you are the right person for the position, and maximizing every opportunity to network with others in your field can often be the most effective strategies for getting hired.

Well, if you look at this favorable Chezzhead article written by the man himself about VMploy's competitor (and CheezHead advertiser) VisualCV, maybe you'll see why Cheezhead is bashing VMploy.

The old school recruiters/temp agencies are like the travel agencies and newspapers of the 80's. About to be destroyed by technology and the Internet.
