We haven't fallen out of love with Rachel even now that she's an old hat on MSNBC! It's wonderful to hear the sparkle in her voice and to feel the joy that she exudes. She is indeed a breath of fresh air out here in the high desert, Republican country. I just wish that we could get Air America on one of our radio stations--nothing but O'Reilly, Limbaugh and Hannity. No wonder one can't have a decent political discussion out here. Keep up the good work, including the great discussions with fake Uncle Pat!

What was Senator McCain palling around with?

In December 1985, Senator McCain and Cindy traveled to Chile for a friendly meeting with Chile's military ruler, General Augusto Pinochet, who at the time was the world's most notorious violators of human rights. General Pinochet was credited with killing and jailing tens of thousands civilians for political reasons. The private trip was arranged and paid by the Pinochet's ambassador to the United States. They spent three and half days fishing and riding horses in the scenic Puyehue area of southern Chile, in the estate of a prominent and wealthy Pinochet backer Marco Cariola.

McCain, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee at the time made no public or private statements critical of the dictator.

General Pinochet assassinated his opponents at home and abroad. According to the U.S. Justice Department, in 1976 the Pinochet regime was involved in an act of terrorism in on the US soil involving the assassination of the former ambassador to the US and former Foreign Minister Orlando Letelier. The car bombing on Sheridan Circle in Washington, D.C. was described as the most egregious act of international terrorism perpetrated on U.S. soil by a foreign government.

Army General Pinochet came to power through a on September 11, 1973. He bombed the palace of an democratically elected president, padlocked the congress, outlawed all political activities and actively persecuted his opponents. At the time of his death, around 300 criminal charges were pending against him for people disappearances, torture, assassinations, tax evasion and financial embezzlement. Was Senator McCain ever aware of the despicable international terrorism record of his friend? What do you think about his judgment and character in this matter 23 years ago and 49 years old?

The arrogance of Ms. Palin was astonishing when she compared herslf with Barack Obama. Here is a lady who shoot her mouth open, and every time, ignorance comes out of it. In contrast, Barack Obama, is a learned man, an accompished lawyer, who knows what he is talking about. His style and the tone of his voice is a delight to listen to.

Someone should explain to Ms. Palin what "pre-condition" "elite" and "American Vice Presidency is. Of course, the way she is going, there will be other subject where she will need some enlightening.

I became her fan over a year ago, while listening AirAmerica. I been in love to her for so long (in an intelecutal way!).

Now that she has her own show, she is the only reason (after Olberman) to watch TV.

MSNBC is lucky of having Maddow and Olberman.

Rachel,

Please Please either you or someone at MSNBC make it a key point that Sarah P has abused her power in Alaska - and the connection between that and her wanting to change the Constitution of the US to serve her power needs - is so obvious.

What a great thing to happen--sometime. Or--Rep. to U.N.--I would favor Sec. of State, personally.

Those of us on the Left Coast can actually see your show three times--seldom do I do this, but it's Midnight At The Oasis because I've been reading through a zillion of your endless and breathless fan letters. So I guess I'll go watch it again--make sure to have the cameras on you when you laugh, you have a wonderful laugh, a beautiful neck with the little mole mark on the right side. Don't you dare put make-up on that! Your understated attire accentuates your incredible, unbelievable candlepower!
