Chicago Factory Workers Win Their Battle, Sort Of

Bank of America agrees to loans that will cover severance pay.

The Chicago factory workers who staged a sit-in after being laid off without severance or accrued vacation pay have earned a victory of sorts. Bank of America, which last week cut off financing to the company, has agreed to loan Republic Windows and Doors enough to cover the former employees' rightful claims.

They are, of course, still unemployed.
