She's the governor of a state with a huge office and works late into the night. Instead of taking 3 months of maternity leave or sticking her newborn to some stranger, she chose to return back to work with baby in tow. What's the big deal? If it's a crime for her to care for her own newborn, then fine her for it. She doesn't care.

My 4th child was a big surprise. I was senior partner of a moderately sized law firm and had a very busy trial schedule that went well over a year. My son arrived 3 weeks early on a Friday (thank you, Jack), and I was back to work on Monday--with him in tow. He slept in a cradle next to my desk. Newborns are generally fairly easy to bring to work as they sleep for several hours, wake up to nurse, and then go back to sleep again for hours. It was really no big deal and I thought nothing of it at the time. I tried a case the Thursday after he was born.

This is rather idiotic where it concerns Sarah Palin. She's not sitting in a cube farm somewhere, she's the governor of a state, has a large private office. Her kids aren't running around bothering people grinding out widgits. As for her returning to work 3 days after giving birth, so what? Is that some sort of a crime or something? She chose to return to work, and she chose to bring her baby to work and keep him under her desk, I don't see what the big deal is here. There are pictures of her with her baby at work, or don't you believe the pictures.

Have I seen this done personally? No, but then again, I don't work in a governors office, do you, or have you? I doubt it.

Your question if it Palin's mother at work description is unrealistic or not just seem like some catty comment to me

I think it's just fine for women to bring kids to work. It's not right to force women to choose between work or motherhood. Our society has to adjust to this situation. It's the same as we have to accommodate to people with disabilities. I applaud Governor Palin for setting a good example. She is a role model for young women and girls, that you can have it all.
