Congress created this economy by their incompetence and lack of control over mortgage lenders and investment bankers. Creating economic havoc and hardship worldwide. They need to stop dithering and pass the unemployment extension. If they can bail out coporate america rewarding their greed and incompetence. Then helping the american worker should be a no brainer and is small compared to the corporate bailout. I suppose we don't have paid lobbyists and large contributions. We only have a vote many times. God Bless America still the best in the world.

If it were not for this current administration we would be without any means to support ourselves and families. Those of you who think that Pres. Obama is doing such a bad job of governing this country should ask those of us who have no dinner tonight how we feel about what he has done and is doing. Dumb you say, well I would much rather have this President than the last in office making these kinds of decisions. I wonder where we would be now if Bush or McCain had their way.

What would happen to the Senators if their pay got withheld due to us voting on whether they should be volunteers or paid civil servents and their car got repoed power got shut off and are going to court for an eviction? Could they still make it to the Senate meetings? And if they could not how would they get to job interviews and unemployment meetings with 3 children and no car? Why is the welfare of unemployed Americans being toyed with? For many it will be too late. And I feel very sad for the people who use this as a life line. They could easily pass this without their own private agendas. But alas we suffer while they decide on things that are unimportant to the unemployed. We can't buy a home on UI anyway! Too bad they weren't up for re-election this year. This issue would have been passed weeks ago with no hidden agendas!

I can't believe that the pittance amount for only 14 to 20 weeks takes this long . And to bicker about it ? DUMB DUMB DUMB
