I've been without a job since Aug 2007, Ran out of extensions in Aug 2009!! Does this extension pertain to me or am I out of luck!! I have a family to support and can't keep on counting on friends and family to help me out...I've been looking for a job and just can't seem to land one....don't know what else to do.

If your extension runs out before the Dec. deadline and your in a hard hit state you may get more. Sounds to me, everyone will get 14 even after Dec. If you have already exhausted the last extension and your in a hard hit state you will get 14 weeks and up to 6 more.

if my extension ends in 4 weeks does that mean i will receive additional 14 weeks ? or less

While the extension window expires December 2009, Congress will most likely extend the window. The extension will probably be attached to some other piece of legislation. Continue to write your congressman so this does not fall through the cracks.

How can anyone possibly use 14 weeks of benefits with only 8 weeks left in 2009? I'm in CA.and my benefits ran out about 6 weeks ago so will I receive an extre 8 or 14 or 20 weeks from This. How does anyone possibly get 20 weeks if there's only 8 weeks left and it isn't retroactive?

"i wish it would all go to hell" hmm.. wow, could you be anymore sour? keep in mind, you are this country!! it all starts with ourselves.

relating to to the bill that finally passed the senate, should have been passed two months ago. the GOP dragged this out only to serve their own interests with legislation not having anything to do with extended unemployment benefits. home buyer's credit, and Accorn funding. all this while people in need were missing rent payments, and unable to pay the necessities, because they can't get hired in a lame economy. extending benefits should have been the only thing relating to this bill. the GOP is responsible for this, and they needs to pay a big price. anyone unaware of this, needs to do some homework.

Not good news - its all show...did you forget that there is a DEC 2009 expiration on the extended benefit laws which has not been changed. This is useless after Dec 2009
