I reckon apple would be very happy with this kind of flop each and every year. 1000000+ units shifted already, with no sales outside of the US yet.

How's that crow tasting??

No camera

No multitasking

No putting in my pocket

No flash/java (seriously?)

No replaceable battery

But it can replace the ipod, reader, and handheld game platform my kids use. Of course, they all fit in my pocket... (Oh wait, I said this before)

...or should they just continue to use what they have and be thankful I'm not sending them off to get a job to pay for a useless $500-$800 toy that as of yet has no real value for any of us?

This is funny because when I got the email today from Apple that it will be available on Saturday. I thought to myself the very same points in this article. I take my ipod everywhere and I have a G1 Android phone because if you are typing anything, its so much easier with keyboard. Even on my phone there is an option for the keyboard on the screen and I can not stand it. But I just dont get why I would pay more money to get an oversized iphone thats not a phone?

Apple hit a grand slam home run with this one.

The author of this article is an tech ignoramus and should reconsider career choices.

I take my IPOD everywhere but it fits in my pocket, a small slot in my car or my purse. I don't think the IPAD would be as handy. And it isn't a phone. When Verizon can handle IPhones I'll get an IPhone. But if the IPAD is just an oversized Ipod...I don't get it:( Can I use my Photoshop program on it?

Perhaps the writer has not heard of backpacks and briefcases and bags. I carry a briefcase that is perfect for a tablet, but my notebook is just too heavy.

A great product and we will see this change computing for ever. It is what real people want.

Something affordable, easy to use, fast, and flexible.

So now that its released, the iPad seems REALLY overpriced, useless and just a larger obnoxious looking iPhone/iPod Touch... and I am a FAN of Apple!!! LOL They need to try HARDER here - this thing just fails - LARGE

Perhaps USNWR should wait until a product is launched before dissing it. You have missed the mark in several ways. Perhaps you are simply anti-Apple??
