i somehow disagree about Dr. Raul's view about how plastic surgery changes people's career. i think plastic surgery doesn't last forever. we can see the experiece from alot of celebrities and other reports since a decade..it only last unless you keep maintaining within a period of time according to Doctor's appointment..

I believe that plastic surgery can boost your career in some ways. I agree that there is a higher advantage in multiple subjects of interest for more attractive people, than those who aren't so attractive. It also doesn't suprise me that parents don't care as much for the less attractive children, because that seems to be influenced by factors in our society, where attractive people are naturally more popular. It doesn't necessasarily mean that they're well liked, but their physical appearance attracts to many. Employers could use this to their advantage, because if there were an item or a trend for their company, they could help promote it. I do believe that pastic surgery should have many limits. I would definatly not promote plastic surgery, because it increases discrimination on those who are less attractive or cannot afford it.

I think cosmetic surgery does help people in the workplace even though I would like to think it didn't, and I also think this article is right about how teachers and nurses pay more attention to the more attractive babies or elementry children. I don't think whitening your teeth is bad but getting surgery to change your entire face is bad in my opinion. I don't think people should get a job because of what they look like but from what they can do for that job. I would never want to have cosmetic surgery to get a job.

I never really took the time to think about what this article has said, but it really is true. People do get more attention if they are more attractive. I realize now why people get plastic surgery, so that they may look more attractive to people and things may go better for them and they may get more opportunities and attention. I was shocked to find out that parents are less protective of their children if they are less attractive. I don't really agree though with doing plastic surgery since I think that we are all attractive in our own individual way and that we should be happy with what we were given and all plastic surgery does is make us fake.

Even though this article seems like certain parts of it are nonsense, they are actually truthful. Some things that this article said that surprised me, were that many people get cosmetic surgery on their eyelids, and they actually take loans out so they can get different surgeries that they want. I believe that people should not go that overboard to the point where they are borrowing money. I think that people should get surgeries if they want to make themselves feel better, but I do not think that they should get so many surgeries to the point that they look like they are fake. Simple surgeries, like whitening your teeth, are not as drastic as actually changing your body, and it is a simple surgery that will make you look better. Another thing that surprised me, was that parents are less protective if their children are not attractive. I believe that you should love and care for someone the same, and it shouldn't matter whatthey look like. One thing that bothers me, is that we are taught from a young age to not change who we are, because people should accept us for who we are. Having comestic surgery is changing your appearance, and it shouldn't matter what you look like to get a better job or have a successful life. You should be accepted by people for the real you, and you shouldn't try to change your body to try to impress people.

I find what to be said in the article partly true. We as a Americans are completely obsessed with apperances, and it has gotten completely out of control. I believe it is true that cosmetic surgery can help in the work place. But, i find it absolutely apalling that people feel they need to go to these measures just to be acceptable to someone else. Little things like whitening teeth or dying your hair I can see to be okay, but changing your face, your identity, just to make money is aweful. A job position should be offered on capablility and experience, not what is on the outside. However, when I read a parent would be less protective of their child because it is less attractive, I don't think that that is true. I think that all parents find their children beautiful. Looks should not determine who you are or where you stand as a person. Looks just fade away with time, you can only fix a problem so many times before it's unrepairable.
