how do you know what pay to ask for if your ask? say you are looking in a different type of work.

I have been looking for a job over a year now. In the health
industry, in any hospital in massachusetts. I have been filling in
application in every single hospital, and never got any phone call
other than a thank you note for applying the jobs.
I am loosing my hopes in finding a job and don't know where to
go from here. I am an older worker, and have quite a lot of experience.
Even though, i am asking for less money than i use too.
any help from anywhere will be appreciated.

Jack of CA point was excellent ...... to appear focused, come across with clarity, and to exercise and remain fit. Energy and enthusiasm along with a sense of cooperation and willingness to work will go a long way.
Negativity and a sense of being set in your ways will not help one to find a position. In addition be open-minded to opportunities and tell everyone you are in the job market.

I have been employed with New Jersey American Water Company for the past eighteen years. While employed with American Water my duties included; changing meters sizes range from 5/8" to 1" while assisting 1 1/2" and 2" meters. I have also assisted with the connection of fire services such as apartment buildings, hotels, as well as schools.

I have been looking for work now for about 15 weeks. I was layed off from my job on 09/10 /2009 after 4 years of employment. During that time I obtained my certs on aluminum stainless steal and carbon steel mil aws 1595-a . I am trained as a pipe welder. In other words I have the experience for a number of jobs. I am 56 yrs old, why cant I find work, if I am not descreminated against?

Hello. I use hair dye to help hide my grey hairs on head when looking for work just to improve my chances of getting a work interview. You may want to try this.
