Eli Lilly acquired the rights to test and purchase medicinal herbs produced by a Chinese company. Bridgestone Tire made a deal to have its tires manufactured in Indonesia. Google acquired a stake in a Chinese community website. People with the ability to identify, assess, and facilitate such transactions should increasingly be in demand. Employment should be available in all sectors: companies, consulting firms, nonprofits, and, increasingly, under an Obama administration, government.
