The 30 Best Careers for 2009

I found out after 15 years of customer service that I really hate this job. I have gone back to school to become a medical transcription editor. Some of this all sounds like sour grapes. I could get a job in a call center because I already had one in another firm and I just wanted to throw up. I can not do it any longer. I chose to change my life.

I think there is not anything you cannot do as you get older unless you have physical limitations. I am all for change and going after your dream no matter what it is and no matter what age you are.

30 Best Careers. Your kidding, right? The writer was ordered to write a positive

spin on the job market collapse? Hundreds of applicants for one opening. Finding work for people with education and experience is like hitting the lottery.

Give the facts, not your dreams. US is in a sustained era of throw away workers and long term unemployed. Low wages for educated people. This has been the case since the early 1990's. Write an article that reflects the true picture.

Screw this article ... if your over 50 years old and let go today, you're

screwed. I feel sorry for those in their 40's who think they will be doing waht they are for another 15 years or so. Chances are those of that age now will be even more likely to be let go even younger in the years to come.

I considered chiropractic, which does make pretty good money if you're in the right place. I decided against it because I do not have good dexterity with my hands and i am rather clumsy. So I decided doing something that didn't require to much use of my hands would suit me better.

Surgeon's do make a lot of money, and so do most CEO's, but...becoming a CEO normally requires you to climb the corporate ladder and there's only one position and how many people in your company want it? How many are more qaulified than you?

Surgery is not for everyone. You need good dexterity with your hands (you don't want to slip and cut open someone's lung) and a good tolerance for blood, long hours, and you also need to be aware that you can't save everyone, some people will die. That's just the way it is. Plus, being a surgeon on average takes at least 13 years after you graduate high school (notice I said at least, I think the most is 19). And for all that extra education, you may get paid "the average jo's" salary of like 40k for a few years of it. But if that's what your heart's in do it. Just don't do any job for the money, you need to find something you sincerely enjoy, and go along with it. Wouldn't you rather wake up in the morning, smile, and say, "I get to go to work today" rather than wake up, and groan saying, "I have to go to work today."???

i would love to become an audiologist but after doing research i am not going to school for 8 years when i would only be making an average of about 65k a year. If i go to school for 8 years i intend to make far much more than that!
