As far as a place to live, who can compete with San Diego? Coastal city,no smog, no tornados, humidity, hurricanes, just mild temperate climate all year long. California is known for earthquakes but San Diego has no substantial earthquake faults to speak of. While most of California is mired with high unemployment currently, San Diego being a navy town where 25% of the workforce receives some direct benefit from military contracts is like an island within stormy seas.

there's no reason this can't all run up on a single page easily, or even better, a one-paragraph list....

Another ridiculous article that assumes the counts on Dice are an indicator of job market vitality. Everybody in IT in NY & NJ knows that Dice is filled with resume honey pots that get reposted every two weeks. Go ahead an try to do a story about getting a job via one of the dime a dozen body shops. Just try it.

It says you can make 500 a week posting links for goggle on-line and I have never heard any one say it is a scam I don't want to get ripped off again. Please let me know if people are really making money working for goggle or is just another rip off!!Do you know anybody that is really doing it it sounds so real any one please write me and tell me what you think Thanks Larry

Usually writers of these articles don't understand the field. While Seattle may be a good place for some sectors, it is overpopulated with technology workers who were displaced during the dot-com crash and subsequent economic downturns. A high tech job takes a lot of specific knowledge, so, unlike a manufacturing job, workers can't just move from one sector to another, any more than a dentist can quickly re-train to become a brain surgeon, even though they are both "health industry" jobs.
