NAFTA will not hurt american jobs! How many of you believe that now?

Trash it now!

KamaraSune of KY 7:53PM March 09, 2010

You are all correct but we are the gov., until everyone or the mass-majority join together for the common good and the welfare of the nation as a whole! Those who have the political power's will allow out sourcing of work to oversea's company's owned by american corparation's for profit or political gain's. Total athority is corrupt this I belive is what we have in our gov. today one body of the gov has no power's over the remaining two and president's are free to pardon anyone especially those with close tie's whom without it might shed light on the corroption of power! It is the burdin of the Middle and Low Income who must organize and make those in power rule for the people by the people who have impowered them. The truly poor are distrustful of all and are simply trying to focuss on surving. Those who are rich by the labor of the downtroddin have thier own ajinda such as Power or Political Favor. Until we educate and imbody our voting right's and join together to over look all predudice we've created against ourselve's such as classes of citizen, race, age, country, state or polical affiliation we are no longer the gov of the people. Rather a country governed by political corrouption impowerd by us the people. A country must be goverend by it's people for the people and it must provide for the majority basically 75% or Two Third's. A nation divided especially on so many issue's will crumble we are at a cross road and I fear not for my children but for our nation ; IT is not a country I know anymore.

1. Nothing will get corrected until we have term limits for ALL politicians. Our fore fathers never envisioned a day and hour in which we'd have people sitting in office for 20,30 or 40 years.

This leads to corruption and putting the needs of big business/lobbyists over the common person first.

2. Finance Campaign reform: If you live in MA, why do you want someone from WY sending money in to influence your election in MA ? You don't ! Registered tax voters living in their state should be the only ones who can contribute to a campaign.

Business contributions should be held to a minimum as well.

3. Tell me what the US government has run successfully ? fannie may, freddie mac, US Post Office, Social Security, etc ? all broke

Why do I want the US government getting into health care ? Heck NO ! Tort reform: YES, Truth in Billing by Doctors & Medical Institutions: YES

Career Politicians have a strangle hold on the US Government & our money.

4. Consumption tax should replace the income tax and or a combination of a flat income tax along with a consumption tax.

This isn't rocket science here folks.

Get involved in your state and pass term limits !!!

I remember why Business Week is a waste of time.

The US just posted the largest debt to GNP ratio since WWII and your solution is to create more government jobs?

Your just proposing to sell your grandchildren into salvery.

That's right, government debt is a promise to tax the next generation.

Obama gave away stimulus money to the richest bankers with no conditions. It is not the working class that is at fault.

He fooled me really good. Then he put that Sec of Treasure (i.e. banker lobby expert) to protect the bankers and the corrupt Fed Chairman. Now we learn that he didn't even write his own book or speeches.

I want my vote back. He has failed to do anything on his list except blame others.

The solution is to recall a President that is clueless and to hold new elections.

We need a President that has a history of creating jobs, not increasing taxes for worthless government jobs.

I really like the plan you have laid out; you have my vote! Let us also include working on rebuilding employment opportunities and offering monetary assistance to the young folks seeking college degress....

I am a 54 year old, unemployed, single woman; I do not qualify for unemployment benefits and my nest egg ran out this week. Along with millions of Americans I have always done what I was suppossed to do; worked hard, paid my taxes, been law abiding, never lived extravagantly and look where we all are now "up a creek without a paddle"! There are no job opportunities for many of us struggling out here; any ideas how we are to support ourselves from this point further? Me neither.........

Washington, it is difficult to budget when there is no money AT ALL coming in!

1. Threaten our clueless leaders in Washington with a federal tax revolt if they don't bring our troops home from Iraq AND Afghanistan in six months.

2. Close all military installations we have overseas.

3. Impose a ten-year moratorium on immigration across the board. Who'd wanna move here now anyway?

4. Get rid of the income tax and go with a consumption tax. No one skips, everyone pays, including the corporate sleeze and the politicians who kiss up to them.

5. Start drilling for oil here at home again and pour a few billion into research for alternative energy sources.

Come on, folks, it won't get any better until we roll some heads in Washington and on Wall Street. Do something about it or bend over for some more!

Heather Czerniak of WI 3:33AM October 11, 2009

This won't get better anytime soon if they pass healthcare and cap and trade. The financial burden will be too high on businesses and consumers for any chance of a recovery.

We need to cut taxes as Reagan did to stimulate the economy but I don't see that happening aytime soon.

B Charnes of OH 12:28AM October 11, 2009

Yes to a payroll tax holiday for small businesses.

What Washington needs to do is to help the smaller businesses, which employ many more than large corporations do, to keep afloat. Not everyone is lucky enough to get in with (or perhaps wants to get in with) a large, publicly traded company, which means the great majority are employers in America are smaller ones. They need the most help to stay afloat, and yet it's GM that gets bailed out, right?

Give the smaller employers a payroll tax holiday, and it'll probably help out quite a bit.

MOST of America does not work for GM anyways. Help the little guys out, too.

The lower the dollar declines, the better it is for US exports.

The more that demand for US exports grows, the more jobs needed to produce those items for export.

See how markets tend to have that self-correcting mechanism built right into them? The only downside is that you have to (groan) wait it out for a while (groan).

This is why patience is a virtue, you see.

Angie Koutrotsios of IL 11:34PM October 09, 2009

Who are the ones who don't worry much in this economy? It's either the ones who work for the government or are licensed by them: teachers, doctors, lawyers, policemen, soldiers, bureaucrats, weapons makers.

I say, sue the government under the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment to the Constitution of the U.S.

We demand equal protection. It may not have been the government's intent to protect the people mentioned above but we all wish we have that kind of protection against hunger and lack of shelter and medical care.

ACLU, where are you?
