re: Chris, We elected a "businessman" nine years ago and he spent like a drunken sailor. On the good side, we did get two wars for the price of, well two wars...

I find it ironic that with almost 20% of the population at retirement age and over and 25% college age and younger that the government thinks the economy is going to do better.
If I get this right that leaves 55% of the population to be the source of all the governments income not withstanding trade with other nations. Of that 55% how many are on welfare or derive their paycheck from tax money confiscated from those that actually work for a company that produces goods? I am talking about those who are in the military, or work for government in some way shape or form. Teachers, police officers, local , county, state and federal employees. This house of cards the Dems and Rinos are trying to produce is going to crash soon because the media is more concerned about getting there party in power than reporting what is actually happening in our borders. More concerned about Tea party members being portrayed as threats than Muslims who pull the trigger on a military base.
When the dollar is nothing but worthless paper and some sort of marshall law is enacted to protect us in the crisis it will be to late to say I told ya so. The liberty and freedom to do that will most likely be restricted at that point.

That is exactly the problem when you have the government making all the decisions for you. Wages, Taxes, Healthcare... Government is in a bubble, fantasyland, whatever. Lawyers and community organizers have no idea how a business functions and therefore how our economy works. Ideology at some point will have to face reality. Maybe when unemployment is 30%? Maybe then we can stop calling this a "recession" or a "jobless recovery." Not that any of this will make any impact on millionaires, who are unfortunately the people making decisions for the rest of us. Obama is no exception. We should elect some businessmen and doctors into decision making positions.

Bring back the jobs ?./ Ted - eb Washington allowed the executives to sell jobs overseas that didn't benefit their work force or ours. I make it a habit of buying American Made as much as possibly. My shoes are still USA - even after a company I dealth with wet to China....BIG BONUSES for the executives -.- the price of the shoes didn't go down one cent - but people lost their jobs, Washington allows it...didn't save me anything...
..
..Up and down the list - we didn't save anything - burt executives got bonuses...CUT WORKERS HEALTHCARE -"save money" - GET A BONUS...Washington allows and encourages it..
.
..We'll cut education and then Washington will allow more foreign engineers..
Everyone that owns stock is part of the problem - noone wants 3 or 4 percent when they can get "Madoff's" 20 percent -.- GREED spurred by Washington
Washinton is putting on a good dog and pony show about healthcare ( including saying we can not afford it while we pay for theirs ) Wanna guess the outcome ?.?.?
Any guesses as to why insanity isn't listed under states -.- We are all in the state of insanity being run by the politicians in Washington

Someone suggested to bring back the jobs here that were outsourced to India and China. Well, the reason why the jobs were sent there in the first place was for the companies here to make a profit and survive. The salary/wage scales here in the United States are way up the ladder that it really make sense to have the labor overseas; otherwise, it is very difficult for companies to survive. I know this for a fact because I used to work for a manufacturing company who barely made money because of the high-labor costs. It eventually moved the operations to Mexico.

Here's a thought - why don't we bring back the jobs we handed over to India and China. That's where all of those manufacturing jobs are. Why people are not rioting over this is beyond me.
