Whats really going on? How do we fix it? Who and what is to blame for our country's hard times? I can't believe we as Americans sit back and entertain these questions when in fact for years we have watched as Corporate America influenced our political system, country, and individual liberties. The great mighty dollar, that green eyed monster has eating through our very fabric of existence and now we watch in horror as the lack of it destroy's families and lives across this nation and we need to see it for what its worth. America and our great industries are for sale to other countries workforces and us highly skilled, educated citizens of America have to compete with unskilled, uneducated, and undocumented illegal aliens for jobs that are menial and of a very low wage. This whole situation makes me sicker every day and shame on us for not putting the right people in office who are willing to see things for what they really are and are willing to do the unpopular thing because we are more important as americans then that might dollar.

You really can't blame Obama. The economy was already in such a bad state, when he came to office. He's trying! And anyways, the reason that so many jobs are being offshored is that Americans want high pay, and not have to work a whole lot. Asians on the other hand are willing to work very hard, for less money.

Between spending a Small Fortune on my Special Education Credentials, along with the endless time, energy and Ongoing Education, I'm presently out of a Special Education Teaching Position. This came at a time, surprisingly enough, right before I was SUPPOSED to be tenured. A coincidence? I think not! I'm very disgusted, the way Our Administration has more that poorly run our nation, that our Forefathers fought and died for. Then, there are Endless Illegal Citizens in our country, that have succeeded in sucking our system dry, have even contributed into it, yet somehow feel entitled and racist at the same time. I just don't get it! How is THAT supposed to work? Obviously, it hasn't been working. And, don't forget about all of the endless imports, versus American Made. I'm just so disgusted and have worked Very Hard for what I have. My education and Hard Work seem to mean nothing!

Not just the illegals, this country has to do something about the amount of good paying jobs being OFFSHORED to places like INDIA.

IBM, wallstreets sweetheart, has offshored so many jobs it is ridiculous.

People have got to STOP doing business with companies that offshore!!!!

I have been married for 25 years and a few years ago we were making over 100,000 a year and my husband had his own mortgage business.

Now we make aboug 25-200 a week-- last week we made a whopping ZERO dollars. We are losing our home and actually have been staying at my moms the last few weeks because we could not pay the utilities. For the first time in my life I cant buy food without food stamps.

Things have NEVER been this bad for me as a child growing up or as an adult raising a family and having a mortgage.

The people of the US would have been better helped if that billions of dollars spent were given to us instead of all the large corporations that still arent hirings. I have been in the same field in health care since 1984-- but now I am looking for ANY job including fast food.

Economy and the American population rescued?? Not even close..... as far as I can tell all Obama has done is spend money and accomplished nothing.

my idea is a simple one. just get rid of the 11 million illeagels in our country and the unemployment will be taken care of.

phil of OR 12:43AM February 05, 2010

Yes a degree is helpful but it must be accompanied with experience. I have 2 degrees and have been unemployed for over a year due to no experience. While i was in school I was working a cleaning job that paied me pretty good, now I have no real experience.
