With a growing market, unlike our own, and more and more jobs I moved to Asia a few years ago. Never looked back..... Many of my old US friends tell me "If I only could move..." I moved with 3 kids, wife, and dog so if I could most others can too. Have a look at www.pathtoasia.com/jobs. they helped me out during my move.

I think this Alexis Grant needs to be fired for not using facts in his article. I don't know why no one noticed the huge flaw in the article before it was posted. It is no wonder that there are people out there mistaking PAs for MAs if it is thought we go through the same amount of training.

The PA degree is a Masters degree for those are unfamiliar with the profession. We are trained in the medical model and are able to diagnose, treat and manage any disease or disorder as long as we feel confident doing so. We are able to write prescriptions and we work under the supervision of a doctor.

Sorry, Alexis Grant, but obviously you did not do your research for this article.

Dental Hygienist's in Michigan earn about $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience. It's very difficult to break into the field because there isn't much demand for hygienists and most dental clinics hire those who are experienced. My daughter went through Baker College, which offered a good program, but can't find a job.

I don't believe they make that much. Get real. Maybe, just maybe in some of these city's like San Francisco, but for the rest of the country, that is more then a nurse makes.

Alexis,

Please remove Physician Assistant from this list. In order to be a PA, one would need to earn a bachelor's or master's from an accredited PA program. I did a little research to see how you come up with such nonsense and found many schools offering an associate's degree in pre-physician assistant studies. They list physician assistant as a major.

Gotta laugh when I see computer software engineer still listed. Most new domestic computer software engineer positions go to foreigners - particularly Indian nationals - on H1-B and L-1 visas. The pay in this field hasn't gone up in a decade.

"Employment is expected to swell by a whopping 295,200 jobs, or more than 32 percent, between 2008 and 2018."

Perhaps, but without any changes in existing laws, most of the whopping 295,200 will be low-cost foreigners working in India or the U.S.
