Physician Assistant's need more than an Associate's degree. Most schools are very difficult to get in and I believe most require a Bachelor degree. The programs are from 1-3 years. PA's need to retake teir exams every 5 years. They are very knowledgeble and the job can be stressful. They are practitioners but work under the license of a doctor.
