Congress is considering several bills to limit the reach of the credit card issuers. For good reason - when they can arbitrarily declare a client as "having credit problems", double the rate of interest, freeze further credit and damage the individuals credit abilities for years to come, something should be done!

Credit card companies try to wash their hands by saying the customers ruin their own credit. The companies issue cards to folks who shouldn't have them and have no credit history to support them and then cry to the government for sterner bankrutcy rules. And Bush caved in to give them the current rat maze of bankruptcy rules covering 3-5 years of modern day slavery to the interests of Wall Street!
