K-mart it is for me too!! no layaway at Walmart or even Target whats the deal? In good and bad times Layaway is just a great thing. Thank you K-mart!!!!

I agree with Kimberly. I am am usually Wal Mart/ Target shopper, but since I don't want to use credit cards this year I am headed to Kmart for Christmas gifts for my 9 month old daughter. The only problem is the selection at Kmart is lacking. I am also looking for other stores with a layaway program. I wish JC Penney had one.

I remember when I was young and my mom would always say " i have to go pay on my layaway"

toys r us layaway is only for big ticket items like power wheels and outdoor playyards just got off the phone with a store. So you cant go put a whole bunch of toys on layaway like ususal and get them out before christmas. Just FYI!!

For anyone purchasing a lot of toys this Christmas Season (as I will be), Toys/Babies R Us offers layaway as well. They are often more expensive than most places but during the holiday season they tend to have some really good sales. Also, Sears offers layaway, which is a great place to shop for men and houseware. Unfortunately I do not have a Kmart near by so if I do layaway online I will have to take an 1 1/2 hour drive to pick it up, so I look for other options all the time.

Just found out today that Walmart has no layaway plan, no good for me nor my family...Tons of gifts to buy, and I will be purchasing them all from

K-MART...WRONG move WALMART! You will lose plenty each year, trust me...Almost every person I know has decide to shop @ KMART for the holidays, thanks to their lovely LAYAWAY plan.....:-)

I have always did layaway @ Walmart for the holiday. Since they stop I had to regroup and visit Kmart. I was a little shock that kmart had almost everything I need. I spend 700-900 during xmas season. I have children and grandchildren I have to buy for. Plus, I can get all the adult all the eletronics and home goods they need. Wal Mart I tried your way..but I can not stay with you..I am going back to Kmart this year 2009. Sorry

I wanted to shop at Walmart, but since they didn't have a layaway. I went to Kmart and I'm almost done paying for most of the gifts.

Walmart you will be sorry.

In my opinion, K-Mart has long been preferable to Wal-Mart! When you ask a simple question at Wal-Mart, your associate is more likely to vanish into the back room, never to return, rather than come back with the item you need. K-Mart is just better for clothes and cookware and everything else. :) Layaway seals the deal.
