Mr. Brewington paused the camera in between the long interview and the shorter video – perhaps to rehearse or get straight what he wanted the people on the video to say. During the video, Mr. Brewington guides the two people in the video by rephrasing and spinning their statements, leading them to say what Mr. Brewington wants them to say. They readily agree with his spin.

I am also a victim of Ripoff Report.com, and was compelled to launch a federal lawsuit and investigation against them, including Ed Magedson, the actual owner.

The Putt Putt Video starts from a very biased viewpoint. John Brewington’s website explains that he produced the video to retaliate against Ed Magedson and Ripoffreport.com. It states that Ed Magedson’s counsel filed a complaint on his private investigator’s license, and “Now it’s my turn.” This is posted on the webpage just below where this videotape was first posted.
Ed Magedson’s complaint was filed with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (“DPS”), the regulatory agency that licenses private investigators. It notified DPS that John Brewington lied to a federal judge about Mr. Magedson. Mr. Brewington was refusing to answer questions regarding the identity of Ed Magedson’s neighbors that he interviewed. Mr. Brewington told the federal judge that he did not want to answer because he thought identifying the neighbors would put them “at risk.” While under oath, he told the judge, “All of the neighbors have expressed great fear, both physically and from being defamed on the Internet, if their information is disclosed.” Mr. Brewington was ordered to disclose the information. Three months later, Mr. Brewington stated the following under oath:
Q: “But is it your testimony that [name of neighbor withheld] told you that she had great fear of Ed’s physical – including physical harm, that she could be physically harmed?
A: No. I don’t think anyone ever indicated physical harm.
Q: So none of the neighbors you spoke with told you that they feared physical harm as a result from Ed?
A: Correct.

The videotape features a man named Tony Agerone, who claims that he witnessed Ed Magedson offering to remove a posting about Putt Putt car lot on Rip-off Report for $500.
The statement is ludicrous. Ripoff Report has battled dozens of very expensive lawsuits to protect its right NOT to remove reports. These dozens of lawsuits could have been avoided if RipoffReport.com would agree to remove reports. It is absurd to think that Ed Magedson would offer to remove a report for $500.
Tony Agerone later denied knowing the Putt Putt car lot or Lloyd Jorgeson. He did admit that Brewington coached him on what to say in the video. Police records reveal Tony Agerone’s history of involvement in criminal activities, including:
• 2000 - assault and disorderly conduct
• 2001 - two counts of endangerment
• 2002 – assault
• 2004 - theft of means in connection with the theft of a boat
• 2004 - disorderly conduct
• 2005 - false reporting to law enforcement (he falsely reported that Jay Silvers’ wife who is mentioned in the Putt Putt video hit him with her vehicle)
• 2005 - threatening and intimidation
• 2007 - false reporting to law officers

Response from RipoffReport.com: failed blackmail plot – trying to get Rip-off Report to remove postings.
This videotape, which we are calling the “Putt Putt Video,” contains deliberately orchestrated lies. Ed Magedson never offered to remove reports from RipoffReport.com for $500.00, or any amount of money. And, RipoffReport never authorized anyone to change the content of reports, period. Note: The “star” of this videotape told investigators that John Brewington did 3 different takes to make the video the way he wanted it.
The maker of the Putt Putt Video is John Brewington, a private investigator from Arizona. He has done business under John F. Brewington and JFB Acquisitions. Mr. Brewington openly admits that he posted this video to retaliate against the editor of RipoffReport.com, Ed Magedson, because Mr. Magedson informed the Arizona Department of Public Safety that the Mr. Brewington committed perjury to a federal judge. “Now it is my turn,” stated Mr. Brewington. This video is carefully produced in an attempt to injure RipoffReport.com with falsehoods.
We feel it is essential to expose falsehoods of this video and bring the truth to light so that the public will not be misled.

John Brewington calls himself a “paladin” a knightly or heroic champion. He also states that he is the “managing member” of Paladin Investigations. Managing member is the term for the person in charge of a limited liability company or “LLC”. But “Paladin Investigations” is not a limited liability company, it is only a trade name for J&S Trust. And, we believe that John Brewington is the only person who works for J&S Trust.
John Brewington testified under oath in deposition that he spent “hundreds” of hours investigating Ed Magedson without ever being paid by anyone. When asked, “you’re obsessed?” he responded, “someone accused me of being obsessed, yes.”
Ed Magedson and his company sued Mr. Brewington last year (2008), for defaming Mr. Magedson and assisting a third party in a plan to attack and take down RipoffReport.com.

Yelp is a rip off, go to the site and read what hudreds are saying, stories in 10 national newspapers, magazine articles, and even channel 5 in San Francisco ..join us in reporting YELP to the FTC ...they pay people to do reports.

As the "dishonerable" PI Tina discusses in an earlier post I will be pointing later out some interesting things about her posting all over the internet and her relationship to Rip Off Reports law firm.
The reason I took the story to a reporter, "Tina" is because my opinion alone doesn't matter. I expect a jounalist to vet the sources and investigate the story, which is what Sarah did. You had ample opportunity to disparage her in your postings.
The story is by no means discredited because one of the parties quoted chose to recant. His use of the word "extortion" really bothers the Magedson camp as does the story.
It should be noted that while Sarah and the paper were sued, it was not for the content of the story, rather it was your attempt, yes your attempt, to get notes from Sarah to see if the attorney was misquoted. I presume since you dropped the suit, there is no real argument over the content except through smoke and mirrors.

Dear Seth,
Me thinks you doth protest too much? Apparently you are the one who thinks there is a problem when there really is no need for concern or alarm.
As for not knowing anything about Magedson, even here you are mistaken. Yes, it is true he has a police record. So what? Many of the teenagers who are in US high schools, also have police records - does this mean they ought to be condemned forever? I think not. Your use of the phrase "partakers in the EVIL..." - this makes me inclined to believe you might be religious? Not a good thing for you in an enlightened and changing society. Evil is what 'you' consider it to be. To others, evil is but a part of their day.
Seth, take a few deep breaths and relax. People are smarter than you think. Any reasonably intelligent individual by default does not believe everything he reads. People who are stupid don't count since most of them do not wield considerable influence.
Your robbery analogy is hardly appropriate. I do not believe Magedson has killed anyone or committed any robbery. Magedson is well within the law. I wonder how much you care about 'evil'? You openly slander Magedson and cast doubt on his sincerity by referring to his past. His past is no longer relevant.
You rant so much Seth, I for one question your motives and your sincerity.
Let me say this, if you are innocent and have been harmed by ripoff reports, you have my sympathy. I am terribly sad that honest people are and will continue to be hurt because liars will always exist. This said, many innocent people have been sent to the gallows yet we still have courts and juries and judges. As humans we are far from perfect.
As for obtaining names from Magedson, I believe you can, if you are able to prove beyond doubt that what was reported about you is in fact false. You can sue the individual who made those false reports. C'mmon, you must have an idea who posted the reports?
Let me say that when one acts within the law, one has incredible courage.
I don't have the resources to sue a large and powerful organization. In fact, I doubt the same lawyers (scum bags that lawyers normally are) who are trying to bring Mageson down, would give me the time of day.
You make a lot of empty threats. Do you think you are succeeding? Please do not make assumptions about everyone who uses ripoff report being brought to justice - you have in essence accused these individuals of being guilty without having any evidence. All I can say is shame on you Seth!
Finally, if Magedson is the devil, I have no problems dealing with him. As I stated earlier, evil is what 'you' consider it to be.

Those of you who support what RipOffReport and Ed Mageson are all about, either know nothing about him and his official record with law enforcement, or don't care about his agenda and how he makes his money, and that's quite possibly because YOU are part of the problem, and are partakers in the EVIL of Ed Mageson.
How would you like to report a robbery at your house and the police tell you, we're not interested? Or, report that there had been a murder and the police said there was nothing they could do? You call and call, reporting repeated crimes at the hands of the same assailant, and no one was interested!
The criminal has accomplices and widens his criminal activity, year in year out, and still no one in law enforcement, government or media shows concern. That's what we have here. We have an extortionist demanding money from law abiding citizenry on HIS terms, who has been convicted under the RICO Act,in business as usual, and who is in hiding. Just try to see the man in person for an interview.
Ed Mageson has been taken to court so many times, he's lost count of the number of cases he's been involved in. He'll have you know, he's protected to say anything he wants under our Constitution because he states he's in the media. Lying is protected speech under the Constitution after all. Until he's pressed on that point, then he states he's NOT a N.Y. TImes or a Wall Street Journal. Can't have it both ways Ed!
One day Ed Mageson's EVIL deeds will fail to go unnoticed, and Ed WILL go to the "Big House," and be in good company with the Bernie Madoff's of America. Any luck, he'll room with Bubba for what he's done to thousands of law abiding citizens and businesses. Madoff was of course a celebrity con artist who was finally arrested after years of complaints. Madoff no doubt has a photo of himself and a president or two on his cell wall. Wonder what Mageson will put on his cell wall? Any luck, we can get all the posters who used malicious lies posted to Mageson's website (hoping their names would never be revealed), to pay for their misdeeds as well. Not so far fetched when you dig deeper and find that posters of derogatory information who believed themselves "Anonymous," have been revealed in the past and are currently being sued.
Ed Mageson's "Ripoff Report" IS the RIPOFF plain and simple. If you ignore the truth of this with evidence aboudning, don't think that you can claim ignorance when YOUR day in court finally arrives. And don't you feel comforted knowing Ed Mageson will never remove YOUR post from his RipoffReport, even though you lied and changed your mind about submitting the post? This will quite easily one day help the prosecutor go after YOU!!! Now won't that be fun?!
