All of the organizations mentioned in this article are worthy organizations, but please consider donating to a smaller, more local nonprofit such as Haiti Marycare (www.haitimarycare.org). There is less bureaucracy, oversight, and there's a greater chance that your money will be used in the most efficient way possible. I am working with a group of teachers to rebuild schools if you are interested in donating. I can't donate online cuz I don't have a credit card, but I did the text-messaging donations. For the Red Cross donation, if you live in Canada just text REDCROSS to 30333. When I texted to 501501, I got the message, "…Text HAITI to 45678 for a $5 donation to Canadian Salvation Army". So if you live in Canada, I guess just do that. :)
