Oh yah, the worldwide banks are going to make tons of loans to the mass of people who live on less than two dollars a day.

The vast majority of India, China and Africa do exactly that.

The banks don't suffer (except in the very short term) when part of a society defaults on their obligations, it's built into the game that the larger society is made to pay for the excesses of some. We're all soon to be in a virtual Debtor's Prison. Deteriorating public infrastructure, services and social cohesiveness. Rampant crime and mistrust toward each other and our government institutions. As things accelerate, banks will have title to more and more property of all kinds. There are billions of people worldwide who would love to move into your 3 bd, 2 bath home whether it has granite countertops or not and be happy with 12 people living there. You can collect cans and live under a freeway overpass for all the banks care. That's where we're headed.

Consider that the banks (financial institutions) that underwrite both credit cards and real estate loans don't really care if you default. These are international institutions, you're not going to teach them a lesson by never having their credit card again or walking away from your property. Notice how these institutions have already been compensated for future losses via the bottomless bailouts throughout the western economies. They will bust countries and continents, citizens are chopped liver to them, there are always more citizens to issue new loans to. The global banking cartel can wait generations for the next mega human production bubble and will be happy to sell your old real estate to the next big society of wealth generators like the Chinese or East Indians who outnumber us many, many times.

The credit card companies look at your credit report if you are behind on your mortgage they will reduce your credit line and/or close your account.

I think people do fell the mortage is that important because they could be upside down on their house and are planing on leaving anyway.

My Mon about 6 months ago got a letter from CitiBank that stated if she missed one payment her interest rate will go up to 29.9%.

Another slap in the face from big banks with their free tax payer money.
