When we were younger, my Father would make us make a half gallon of powdered milk and then we would mix it with a half gallon of regular milk. As I can remember, it was really not that bad and it saved money which now as an Adult I saw one of his paychecks ($67.00) and 7 kids, I now know why.

If you purchase milk from the Grocery Store, store it in the BACK of the refrigerator. Milk is affected by the temperature changes that occur when the door is opened and closed but in the back the temp stays constant. I am single and recently finished a half gallon that was 2 weeks past the due date on the carton.

I often put clothes on the the line or fence until thier they are almost dry. Then i put them in the dryer for about 10 min. or so to fluff and get out the wrinkles. Especially heavy items like jeans and towels it definetly cuts back on electricity and wear and tear on the dryer.

When my daughter was younger, she used a pacifier, and we were constantly losing them. My husband would have to go out in the middle of the night to go and buy one. I would find them one by one, putting them in the freezer, on the door. As she was over a year, then two, cutting teeth, it felt good. Some kids like the cold feeling, but not holding the cold teething ring. This may save some parents the cost of buying the rings, which you may not end up using anyway.

I took stock in minimum cell phone, so I try to use a lnadline when available and have a prepaid, nice slider phone, which looks nice, and is prepaid, costing on twenty dollars per month double minutes, equal 250 minutes, and smaller amounts available like ten dollars doubled equal 100 minutes due to doubling. Its perfect due to using that landline use when you can. Ladies leave that cell in your purse when you can.

I wash my old socks; put them on my hand like gloves and use as my dust cloth.

Also take that old T-Shirt cut to fit an old swifer mop. Spray orange glo or pledge on it an you have a dust mop for floors.

Old sponge mop becomes a useful car washer.

I have been making rags out of old t-shirts and have not bought paper towels as often, with the eventual goal of eliminating them completely.

I cut open the tube of toothpaste when it's almost completely used up and can usually get about three more uses out of each tube.

My boyfriend recently made lunch for me. He used the bag from the inside of a cereal box to wrap my sandwich and clipped it shut with a paperclip.

Not a good idea. Many state parks have stringent rules and expensive fines re. plant removal. Some woods can be on private lands. It is not up to you or anyone else to simply assume that plants are yours for the taking. Buy a packet of seeds instead. It will be cheaper than a fine/lawsuit.
