Also you can use e-readers like the kindle, or literati, or nook or tablet computers to read the pdfs so you dont have to print them off if you need to take any of the documents with you somewhere. This is what I do for technical documentation. I use my kindle DX which has a 9" display to bring pdfs to customer sites and to have them pre approve POs.

The $250 "nonsense" probably does more than what you do with your Epson. The scanners today not only scan but can organized your files and populate the information into various financial software. This cuts down on the time it takes to locate information and data entry. It will also make your accountant love you at tax time because everything will be organized. I have been scanning for a long time on my $60. Epson so I don't understand this $250. nonsense.
