Better than buying used formalwear, too hard to find what you want in your size rent it. Men have been renting tuxes for weddings and proms forever. Everything is in perfect condition clean and current. Try enting a wedding dress. No more storage problem! In China and East Asia renting wedding dresses and formal dresses is the way its done.

"When you adopt a rescue dog... you may not be able to get the color, age, or sex that you really want..."

It is wrong to say that you cannot the color, age, or sex of dog that you want when you adopt a pet! You just have to look around. You can even adopt a purebred in many instances. Also, if you adopt a mature dog (1 yr or older) many of its personality traits and its size are evident, more so than if you buy a purebred puppy I have 3 rescues and they are far better matched to us than any of the purebreds that I had.

I belong to paperbackswap com. I trade 2-4 books per month. After all, how often are you going to read that fictional story? True, I do keep a few dozen hardcovers, but given the volume I read, it would be impractical and expensive to keep all those one-time reads laying around in boxes piled in the garage or basement.

Rescued pets can be incredibly loyal, wonderful additions to your family. Cast off pets is just wrong and way out of control showing poor family management by pet owners.

Used cars, furniture and appliances are a good way for anyone starting out or starting over again. Besides, it puts a dent in this "throw-away" society's wasteful habits that is burning up resources & filling up more & more landfills at an alarming pace.

As for homes, that is beyond ridiculous! It is beyond belief anyone had the simple-minded, short-sighted gall to even mention it.

One time use should not be the rule, but the exception and then only for safety and health reasons.

unless you're studying a field that's out of date by the time the textbook is printed, the "new" version of the text more often than not has different pictures and slightly different text but no difference in content. I highly doubt statistics 101 changes oodles from one academic year to another.

buying a gently used version usually works just as well.

and i've never heard of a shelter dog being called a used pet before....
