Cshut up CLAU of FL, there isn't any state income tax in FL.

And this page can take their CAPCHA and choke on it because half of the scrambled mess is covered by "THISfieldIsReQuiRed".

"THEY GETS ALL THE TAX BREAKS"...Let me guess, you never finished school.

We don't have a middle class any more because of inflation. I bought cheese danish for easter. several years ago it was $2.99. Then $3 something. I stopped buying it 2 years ago when it was $4.89. This Easter I looked it was $6.49. It is that way with things we need to buy on a daily bases. Gas, food, clothing, housing, education. Inflation. That's what happens when we print too much money.

I am a tax preparer and love all the whining about the rich not paying their fair share. In fact, fully 40% of our customers make less than $30,000 per year, pay NO tax, yet get refunds in the thousands every year. Taxpayers who make twice or three times that and who have supported their kids to adulthood get NO breaks whatsoever and end up footing the bill for the rest of you.

i am really upset with what is going on with the tax breaks for us the working class.. you don't get tax break for buying a car any more, nor for having 'green appliances' but the freaking rich people gets all types of breaks and they get a bunch of money back while we the middle class have to pay back...

Clau of FL 5:03PM March 04, 2012

Oh boy, this is a real break for the people who need it! What a joke! Yes, you can save on your taxes if you can afford to give your money away. I'm lucky I can afford to keep filling up my gas tank!

Once again, they given breaks to the richest people only, the top 1% of our country. But the working class, the class that literally bears the burdon of paying taxes, is stepped on once again. The idea of being so wealthy that you can give money away is adding INSULT to INJURY!

Perhaps we should put a finantial "cap" on persons in the Senate and Congress. If their wealth exceeds an agreed upon amount, say $250,000, then they are prohibited from serving. Maybe then, we'll have a legislature that actually cares about the working class!

We no longer have a middle class - you're either rich or you're poor. That is the biggest, underlying problem with our economy. First step, a flat tax. Let's start making the rich pay their fair share!

For God sakes there should be some way to make all this more simple.Wither it's a flat tax, national sales tax, whatever.

Just imagine the billions spent on keeping up with all of this and the paper work involved. Not to mention the stress is causes.People kill themselves over this mess. You would think that alone would be enough for us to act against this crazy system.

This is in response to a few comments posted on this site.

1. Patrica Wright: A couple with total family income of less than $19,000, does not have to file an income tax return in 2011.

2. Senior couple: You can deduct, as an itemized deduction, any expense you incur related to your volunteer work for a charitable organziation.

Why is social security taxed as income.? Why not raise the exempted amount for people over age 65?

This subject has not been discussed in any of the tax reductions. We paid taxes on the social security taxed already when we worked. Is not this double taxes? Please advise what can be done to correction this failure by the federal government? Please avise us.

If you only made 2964.00 and cared for a spouse do you still have to file? And do you have 5 years to file on that years taxes that is less than 5000.00?
