Another recommendation I would make is to check automatic charges to your credit card and review them to see if you really need to make those charges.

I would not recommend Mint - I consider that a risky connection - if they can track where all your spending is - hmmm so could some one else. I do not agree with leaving my personal information. it is restricted as much as possible.

Don't forget to check at what age your life insurance policy terminates. I wrongly assumed mine lasted until I died........wrong! After talking with a new insurance agent he asked me if my policy lasted until I died. After looking and reading the details of my policy I find out my policy termintes when I am 67 (I am 57 now.) Imagine my surprise when I discovered this. My parents are both in their 80's so hopefully I will live past 67! Will be changing policies (just found out this info the other day) I am sure. But with health conditions now that I did not have when I took out this policy approximately 30 years ago (and have been making premium payments every month BTW) my new premium will be extremely high if I can get insurance at all (note: I was let go by my ex-company over a year ago also.) I cannot believe that my former financial planner did not explain all this to me or at least remind me. Everyone thinks their life insurance policy lasts till they die I do believe. Be sure you READ everything when it comes to legal documents and don't trust people who you think are professionals. Do your homework. There is no one watching out for your well being so be prepared to do it yourself.
