Thank you for this amazing article. I like many of these ideas but 1 idea that I do not like is Live Below Your Means. This is great advise and most people should follow this without any hesitation. But personally I like to expand my means.

I love your site. Keep posting good articles like this.

It would be great to have the option to email this report to my family or a friend as I just like many others do not do any social networking.

Thanks this article is a great run through of things you know but tend to overlook. The smart strip is a great idea i need to implement.

One thing I have found useful as part of my cost cutting is visiting all my monthly expenses periodically and questioning thier validity. Like hunt for cable company deals yearly, same for car insurance, cell phone bills etc. You will be surprised how much money one phone call will save you.

Beware of the "Paperless" life, be very careful not to shred important files documentation that you may need for Retirement, Social Security, Unemployment Benifits. Credit Card insurance policies. Insurance claims for Accidents, Thefts, it is always your responsibility to PROVE the data to obtain what is due you. Don't be fooled. The Government agencies make mistakes. They do not keep your records as well as you do. Example: Disability, Unemployment does not keep records back from when you started work. EDD office when calling to find the date of when my husband started back to work from a long disability accident said" they only have general dates back 3 yrs. They had his year of birth wrong also. One Credit Co.requested Statements going back 4Yrs. to compensate him on a Diability Policy on his Card for Interest due they did not pay when settling his claim after 4yrs. They only paid the basic Claim amt. We searched in our Files came up with the Original Statements and got a sizable refund. I asked the credit card Co. for the statements, but was told they only had 1-2 Yrs and there would be a fee for copies. Keeping your paystubs, Taxes. helped at Socical Security when they did not have some of his employer's correct work history. It only takes a small file cabinet, a Trunk or whatever you choose to store it in to protect your "life information. too many business, Co. Shred, purge their files, you cannot rely on them for information. Try it ask for some random information from a few years back see for yourself. Life can get complicated. Use your computer to back up files, whatever it takes. Lawyer's keep files in their archives. Another Example; A Paid Traffic Ticket rec.

7 yrs later. our Son was asked to pay an old fine by a courthouse. I had the proof he needed not to pay it again.
