I really like the "smart allowance" suggestion - connecting children's allowance to career-related tasks. I've always disliked the notion of connecting allowance to "chores" because I feel that chores should be done by all family members without monetary compensation (making up the bed, washing dishes, etc.). To me, these are necessary tasks in life. However, creating a trip plan for a weekend of skiing or developing a healthy meal plan and grocery list for the week seem like excellent options for kids to earn an allowance! Not to mention the help cooking! Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!

This has offered a thorough perspective, most of which I haven't thought of. I would like to propose a question, how do business owners, especially small to medium sized ones go about applying some of these great ideas?

I found this blog with great small to medium sized business ideas in outsourcing accounting and human resources - basically outsourcing your back office systems. Thus if you can't really afford to hire a CFO, you outsource these services. Basically the cost savings are enormous and you still get the high quality work as hiring a fulltime employee.

Wish I had this kind of information when I was raising 2 kids bymyself. Was not popular in those days to be a single parent by divorce ( especially in the church I belonged to ) my kids suffered as did I because of the way people thought about "divorce"

My son has so much mor available to him for help with his daughter.

I moved in with my son and grandaughter due to losing my condo. It has been diffuclt, but is getting better.

Thank you for the very important information you have,
