I believe these are sound ideas that can be addressed with homeowners that want to preserve the value of there homes. Older homes that are in need of remodeling can consider these options. Especially the kitchen. More and more people are eating at home and bigger dinning room and more compartments can add more value.

I am still seeing the old standby of nice kitchens, updated bathrooms and Family rooms. These areas seem to stay current no matter what the economic trends.
Another noticeable trend in todays homes especially retirement homes is the notice to yards and landscaping. They are not being erudite in their upgrades but definitely on the nature side of improvement: trees, greenery(vines, shrubs).

And what about making homes more cost effective in the energy consumption department? I'm seeing an increase in demand for energy efficiency products and projects. Folks are looking to offset the rising utility costs from the increases in their power and water consumption due to staying at home as a result of losing their jobs.
