Well, for those that want to live within their budget and keep track of their spending there is Purchases Tracker, an iPhone app by Suburbia Apps, is a great way to keep track of spending. A great tool for “Road Warrior" to those on a tight budget. Also, you’ll never a need to look for your receipt again; if you have your iPhone then you have your receipt!

As the founder of Money Management 4 Kids (moneymanagement4kids.com) I am happy to see that the need to teaching children about money is finally starting to spread.
Children become aware of the role money plays in our society at around the age of 8 and studies have shown that the earlier that they learn proper money skills the better they will perform later in life.
But, it's not just learning about debts and credits which will make a difference, it's about setting healthy relationship skills with and towards money as well.

Excellent post! My wife and I always tell our girls "we can't afford that" whether or not we can. And it's true, we're missing golden opporoutnties to explain tradeoffs and decisions! Sometimes it's just easier to say "we can't afford that" because it ends the conversation and we can move on, but it doesn't really help them. Good point!
