look carefully at that sunfish and you'll notice it is part of 'his' body ... and that is most likely the only part of him you'll see when sailing against him in a dinghy race.

That fine gentleman runs the small boat sailing and racing group in charlotte harbor.

It is an extraordinary place to sail ... & live.

I'm going to forward this to my in-laws!

I'm very dubious of the Walnut Creek statistic (prepared by

Kevin Horan-Aurora?) which shows "Sunny days per year" as 44

on your Website reference - www.usnews.com/listings/retirement/california/walnut_creek

Surely, you mean 244?

As a five-year member of the GVR Aquabelles, I am healtier than many of my friends. We have members ranging from the 50's through 80's, and believe me the octogenarians keep us on our toes. When Jim Lo Scalzo (the photographer and interviewer of the Aquabelles) was told that most of us were "grandmas," he couldn't believe it! We are always looking for additional swimmers. If you are a member of GVR, we would love to hear from you. We have just completed our 43rd year in Green Valley and performed our annual show for the community---Las Vegas Revue. You do not have to be "Esther Williams" or a member of the Olympic Sychronized Swim Team to join us.

This is a great article (or series of articles) chalk-full of ideas. While I'm still young, I often think about where I'd retire-who doesn't?

You always hear about Florida, or some place on the beach. But I'm not a beach person, nor do I like Florida so this article is a perfect answer to my questions! So many great ideas, and well mapped out. I love the idea of breaking it up into "personality types" or interests. And it is fascinating to think about how the new generations will retire "Healthy". This is not something you think about when you think of retirement, but it's definitely true! A healthy lifestyle would make my retirement so much more fun.

This is definitely something that I'll bring to my parents attention since they are close to retirement and want to enjoy their golden years!

Thanks for helping me to think about where I can healthily spend my future. I really like the search tools too. Great job!

Well done, Ms. Castro :) Thanks for this informative package - it's definitely of great interest to all of us who have aging parents and would like to see them put up their feet and relax in a healthy environment for as long as they can after working hard all their lives...and also of interest to those of us who can't wait to retire. I'd also like to make a pitch for my hometown Alameda, CA. Though sometimes termed the "Midwest of the Bay Area," it is very retirement friendly and offers much of what a retired person could ever ask for.
