Im a 19 year old novice investor, with a little over $3,600 tucked away into a Roth IRA (vanguard target retirement 2050) and a minuscule $300 in a SIMPLE IRA with American funds. I believe that my weekly contributions to my Roth and SIMPLE with prove worthwhile in the long run. Unfortunately i am the only 19 year old i know that is aware of the great circumstances us youngsters have been tossed into and i feel that my generation for the most part will have absolutely no money saved for retirement because its become pretty obvious that Social Security will provide nothing but false hope. With the market being so low and retirement being so far away, I'm surprised that the majority of the media as well as our educators have such a negative attitude when it comes to investing. I think it all really comes down to patience and persistence. Thanks for the great article, hopefully it will open some eyes!

Unless if our economy tanked again when we are near retirement which brings us to the same situation as our parents today. Good article but remember, there is no guarantee in investing. You must always prepare for the worst.
