It appears you've misunderstood the statistics, about 20% of the workforce is either unemployed or underemployed. However, what isn't being reported is that the workforce as a percentage of the total population is shrinking at an unprecedented rate. 85% of the people aren't working, about 80% of the people who want to work are working as much as they want to work, however, huge numbers of people have given up looking for work and are no longer counted as part of the workforce.

You need "direct " leadership to push through the present economical situation and its just not there.
All the cry babys that leave home cause its lost the "transitory" value. You get what you deserve for trying to pull a fast one and back out of agreed negotiating for house. So , what would you do if next month the value of your house qudrupled ? go back and resume payments ? Why should everyone have to pay for drop outs ? Mostly....ALL PRICES OF REAL ESTATE
WILL HAVE TO DROP ANOTHER 65% to see reversive elements
VENDORS ARE SHOWING TOO MUCH FEAR AND THIS FEAR WILL BE
.......THE SATISFACTION OF ALL WHO WORK FOR

Where are the best places for homeless people to live? I'm referring to the people who have had good credit most of their lives, nice homes, good jobs, nice cars, etc., who are now homeless. Where do they go to live?

I just bet all those people out there that said the bottom is coming and the housing bubble is going to burst are so happy. I believe we focus too much on the news media. Thank goodness the news media is now saying we are starting to level off. People hear it and now they are starting to buy. Did you ever think you would be so upside down in a home? You need someplace to live, but alot of people have enjoyed the many advantages of home ownership. Never did they think their home would be so much less than what they owe on it. I live and work in the Detroit area. It is so sad to see so many homes that are being left empty. Sure some people have lost their jobs and cant affort to keep them, but with a 15% unemployment rate that means 85% are still working. Many people have walked away from their homes just because they owe so much on it compared to what they can sell it for.

Having been born and raised until I was 18 years old in Detroit( I am now 60) I have watched what has happened to that state by having primarily one industry , autos and rlated products, unfortunately Vegas has the same traits and is too hot and flat for me to ever think about moving there for a house. I live in south orange county california and still think it is the bestplace on the world, prices are down 30% pretty much across the board but is still and always will be the golden state. Broke as it is !!

Las Vegas is great if you play poker for a living. If you are a regular honest working person, then stay away! This town is full of crooks and scam artists. Not to mention a state and local government that can only function as long as the slot machines are taking visitor's money.

Almost all the million dollar homes in Columbus, Ohio where I live were built either before 1929 or after 1990. What that means is that the housing market really went into an extended decline. Don't believe the media's lies about value or you'll get burned.

Naples is not undervalued, All that beach, crowded restaurants, too many golf courses, unswept tennis courts, way too much shopping, lack of snow. This is no place to live. Don't come here. Ya, thats the ticket, it's expensive.

Undervalued places to live
Ungullible ofOR
An objective analysis from www.newsweek.com reports that out of 1500+ public high schools, Houston has claim to 15 of them and Portland has claim to 1.
Houston IS a great (undervalued) place to live! We have good schools, great teachers, wonderful libraries, top notch universities, excellent health care professionals, an unrivaled Medical Center, and a forward thinking Mayor Bill White who answers his constituents' letters even if they are only 5 years old.
