Sleep positioners, which keep sleeping infants immobile between two firm cushions, used to be sold as safety gear, since they can prevent babies from turning over onto their stomachs. But now, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has determined that they pose a suffocation risk, since babies can get lodged in the sides if they do manage to roll over.
