Target-date fund scorecard
Target-date funds, with assets that soared 25 percent to more than a half-trillion dollars this year, are the government-advised default investment for workplace savings plans. But not all of the funds are alike. Here are 10 target-date fund families that earned Morningstar's top ratings.
The ratings, which cover the top 25 fund families, are for the quarter that ended June 30. Criteria includes total annual returns, fund expenses, experience and ownership of fund managers and the fund family's investing standards and track records. Funds on this list are rated most likely to outperform peers in the future.
