I got my Direct Express debit card and now find that no bank in my metropolitan area of 5 million+ inhabitants will give me cash from the card without charging a fee, and some banks won't do it AT ALL. I can't pay my bills using the card, so I need money from the card to put in my checking account to pay my bills...but can't get it. THIS CARD STINKS.

this card is crazy i just spoke to customer service and if you keep this card for 12 months and there is no activity on this card ...like the child mother or father has not paid their child support payment you will be charge a $1.25 each month until support is paid by that parent...so if you have the card over 12 month the $1.25 starts.so each month no payment 6 months no payment from parent now you owe this mastercard business $7.25. how can our state allow this to happen when parents deserve every dime they can get to make ends meet. this card is crap. you are charge the minute you activate and put it into you wallet or purse the poor are paying to spend their own needed money they are holding your money hostage. because they dont want to send you paper check, to get your money you have to activate , am i stupid why do i have to pay the bank for my money, most people have accounts and if not they go to the check exchange they are way cheaper than this crapy situation there is so many things wrong with this

This whole program was set up with Comerica bank--in guess which state? and guess who was the President then?

If you answered Texas and "Bailout" George Bush you are smarter than the average bear.

we have found that a lot of our bills can't be paid by credit card .And can you get a lump sum out to transfer to bill account at bank. What about people like my husband who has never had or wanted to have a debit or credit card.

Which banks are part of the Mastercard ATM Alliance for US Direct Express Social Securiity debit card purposes?

signed up for it four months ago but so far have not received card or correspondence from bank plus the SS stopped sending checks. And, of course, the bank have never heard of me even though the SS say they sent the money to them. Finally, yesterday, the SS said they will check into it for me and run traces but it will be at least another 30 days before I have an answer.

I am sick and tired of people calling Social Security an "Entitlement Program" I, (we) paid into this program all our lives and promises were made that have been broken ever since!

STOP calling it an "entilement program"! I own that money and lent it in "good faith" that I would get it when I retired. Can't bank on that now that the government has "chosen" to spend it all! AND would YOU please STOP spending!

The Federal government is OUT of control and that is NOT what they are "entitled" to do! Let's throw all the bums out...they think they are the elite and can spend OUR money and take the fruits of OUR labor without any accounting. Last time I looked...a Budget details INCOME and then expenses. This government ONLY talks about expenses...and they forget to say that MOST of it is International, which doesn't help America at all! "F" the United States...let's take back America!
