Best Retirement Spots for Football Fans

When I retire I will beg my wife to let me buy a second home in Lincoln, NE. I am a huge Husker fan and would like nothing more than to be there every year for football season. The game day experience is fantastic and while many schools claim the best fans, Nebraska football is for true believers. Some 290 plus consecutive sellouts dating from the 1960's. Very impressive, especially while some very good programs can't get sellouts against other than arch rivals. There really is no place like Nebraska.

Have you guys forgotten Appalachian State University located in the beautiful mountains of Boone, North Carolina? The weather is great and Mountaineer Football is fabulous too!

After I retire, I hope not to look at any football anywhere ever again. There are many wonderful important things to see, hear and learn about. Football is not among them.

It is true that USC is one of the bottom teams in the SEC, but that does not mean they should be considered weak. They have a great coach that knows how to recruit. They might not win a lot of games in the SEC but look at the competition. The SEC is known for football and the tough competition in the conference is what keeps them from winning the title every year. As a Clemson student, it might seem odd that I am defending USC, but I have seem USC win big games out of conference when no one thought they would. Doesnt make me like them any more but it does show that you dont have to win every game to be good.

I live near Charlotte and can attest that it is a great place to live. But you might want to rethink the work stalwart infront of the University of South Carolina. There is nothing stalwart about that program and there never has been. They are an SEC bottom feeder, but it is nice to see the top of the SEC come to town every once in a while and the gameday experience is ok.
