Thanks Gab. For now we're considering a couple of 55+ communities, including Alden Place in the Cornwall Area. The place got some positive reviews at city-data. Nothing final yet but we're expecting to move later next year.

Take a look at some of PA's best retirement communities in State College, Lebanon County, Hershey and Lancaster.

Gab, I have to agree with you on that. We're torn between PA and NY. My wife's tilting toward PA though. She prefers retiring in a small town within easy access to major cities. Perhaps you could help us find an ideal location, maybe a town or a small city.

Craig, to where exactly? I see you're already in PA. You can either try other neighboring states or relocate within PA. I know some retirees who chose the latter—usually from bustling cities to small towns.

Helpful post. My wife and I have summed our ideal retirement place in three points: (1) easy access to quality medical facilities (2) near NY, where our daughter lives (3) superb recreational facilities (for golfing, trekking, fishing).

We're still looking for a place to move into sometime next year.
