The article made municiple bonds sound completely tax-free. They may or may not be. IF they are out of state, you have to pay your state's taxes on them.

The Madoff melee should be a clear warning to all to stay with the mainstream and shun the gift-horses in life in the form of extraordinary returns on investment. Those who got caught in this Ponzi Scheme clearly were seeking special treatment because of their money or celebrity but forgot to look the gift-horse in the mouth. Higher returns mean higher risk period and there can be no sympathy for those who ignore this basic rule. Everyone must leave the deals to Walmart as all others could go belly up at any time. I wouldn't trust anything at all for at least the next 9 days until our reign of terror ends!!!

You need to be honest with readers that these ideas while protecting principal result in a lower rate of return which

means a lower standard of living.Aren't these ideas just dealing

with what just happened??
