I can't understand how they left Michigan off the list! The Lake Michigan coast is beautiful, and there are wonderful wines (and food, and medical care) in and around Traverse City, and in the southwest part of the state. The west coast, we call it...Yes, it does snow a lot in the winter, but it's very pleasant to cozy down inside and sip wine near a warm fire. It's beautiful all year.

There are numerous small towns along California's central coast that not only produce some of the world's best Cabs and Zins. There are miles and miles of rolling vineyards along the Pacific Coast Highway and such quaint little towns as Paso Robles, Cambria and San Luis Obispo. A little pricey to live there, but a must to visit.

Gorgeous, affordable, incredible vineyards like Wente & Concannon -- some of the oldest vineyards in California (along with 40+ other wineries), rolling hills, 12+ golf courses. Known as Tri-Valley, this is a destination you wouldn't forget if you have a chance to visit or god-willing retire here!

The wine growing region around Traverse City, Michigan offers not only top quality vineyards, but a quality of life that is unmatched. Besides the breathtaking beauty of the Lake Michigan shoreline, it has superb golf courses, casinos, shopping, and restaurants. It hosts the National Cherry Festival, and the Traverse City Film Festival each year, and is a short drive from the nationally aclaimed Interlochen Arts Academy and it's summer entertainment schedule. We have a great airport, which makes traveling a breeze. Just visit once and you'll understand what makes this region so special.
