To A Reader: Bush haters are suffering from some form of brain cancer or brain disease. Your ability to recognize truth is no longer possible. You don't even know that President Clinton was indeed impeached. He just was not removed from office. You need to also get your facts straight. The social security IOUs that you blame on President Bush did not start on his watch. In fact, since the inception of the fund back before I was born our politicians (both parties) have been robbing our money to fund entitlement programs to get re-elected. What made President Clinton a good President was the check and balance the Republican Congress and Senate had on him. He was also wise enough to know that significant changes in the government structure and business regulation would upset the apple cart and slow the economy. However, the recession during President’s Bushes era actually began during the last year of Clinton’s presidency. It was accelerated by the attack on 9/11 which tanked our airline, hotel, and travel industry along with our stock markets. Your best question is “where are we going to get the money to pay these IOUs”. The answer is fire the current régime….. all of them. They are in a country club setting and could care less about the people. All they want is power and money. I believe every sitting and past congressman and senator should surrender their pension and draw social security and Medicare or better yet abide by the new health care bill they just passed without reading. Then watch real solutions rise up and fix some of our problems.

I agree with mr. Why is the subject of how Bush Jr. has ruined our country not talked about more. I don't know if it rises to the level of war crimes or not, but it has certainly started the decline of the US both economically and in world respect. Many people, both Americans and Iraqui's have died because of Bush's illegal war, Bush has emerged unscathed in spite of what he has done. The stupid politician's preferred impeaching President Clinton over his sex life, no less. Thank God the impeachment wasn't successful, because Clinton was a very good President. I don't get why Bush is so untouchable. You don't hear much criticism of him in the media or anything. Is the Bush family just too powerful? Well, let's home Social Security can last considering the fund is full of IOUs. Where is the government going to get the money to pay these IOUs.

I worked and paid into SS for 40 years. My wife was a Gov.emoployee for 25 years. We are both retired.She gets gov. pensions. Can she get any SS based on my work record from SS?
I always paid in the maximum to SS. over 40 years. How do I know or can find out if I am getting (or should be getting the) maximum monthly payment. I did not start receiving SS. until age 70. I am 80 now.

Can your exwife collect the full amount of my SS $, if she has not remarried and we were married for over 15 years and we are both both coming up this year at our full retirement age of 66. My ex has been collecting her SS when she turn 62. I am waiting until my full retirement age before I collect my SS?

i would like for someone to tell the people how much money has been taken out of ss by our government and a suposed iou put in, national debt we owe to ss, to our old people, where is the aclu when you need them.----where is the billions of dollars we had in our treasury, before baffoon BUSH, started an illegal war, where is the aclu when you need them, bush jr and bush senior and their whole group of cronies should be arrested for war crimes, wheres the aclu, jessie and al when you really need them.

Gotta love these pencil pusher tips. What does the construction worker or line worker do until age 70? How about dropping all pensions from the Government and making them pay into the system? How about making union workers stay employed until 70? Gotta love those 70 year old cops, firemen, teachers and nurses.
