What is your problem Emily? Obviously you make too much money, and you have more money than sense! These places are not for retirees.....you keep mentioning the good job possiblilties...who cares about jobs, I'm retired....do you know what that means? And, the last place I want to live in retirement is near a college town. I want peace and quiet, not "party towns". You don't deserve to have the job you have...you need to go back to school and start over again....you have no clue about life!

As a retired academic, I know several of your top ten places well and have at least visted the others. They are indeed wonderful small cities, but they are very PRICEY in every regard. Better values can be found in the smaller towns near these locations--say Hillsborough, NC, instead of Chapel Hill itself.

Hey Boomers, friends are pretty happy at Lake Weir Living in central Florida (a toy friendly outdoor enthusiasts residential community). There's no crazy HOA fees & the homes (priced from the $90s) are custom built with toy-fitted gargages for big toys (RVs, boats, motorcycles....) Here, go to the blog for videos:
