Hey I just retired to Lexington Va. We have the graveyard, the home and the university that Stonewall Jackson taught at: VMI. The horse and buggy carriage historical tours is part of the historical aura of the town, the information is insightful and the clip clop of the horses is so relaxing to hear. I volunteer as a docent at the Stonewall Jackson house, and I walk through the graveyard daily as part of my exercise routine. The beautiful setting of the Blue Ridge mountains and the Shenandoah valley are magnificent. Very little crime, and a low cost of living are benefits as well.

Great! I just saw the news that SeniorsSinlgeDating is the best and most effective senior dating site for senior singles over 50! Many of our members are well-educated, successful, and fresh in mind.

Asia is also fast becoming the destination of retirees. Imus, Cavite in the Philippines for one--the site of two historic victories of Philippine Revolutionaries against Spain, is being groomed to be the haven for retirees. Villages like Mivivienda's Lancaster Estate, have low cost lots with american style house built on them complete with linear parks for folks and neighbors to enjoy. The house also has abundant natural lighting and good ventilation. It's very near church, commercial ares and has a pool and guarded by security agents. Retirees can also ask Mivivienda Philippines for flexible payment schemes. Yearly, the town celebrates its history with lifelike scenes and fiestas--something retirees will surely enjoy.

Princess Anne, Maryland on the Eastern Shore:

Low taxes, beautiful historic district (entire district on the National Register) and quaint main street (most shops owned by women), low housing prices for magnificent historic homes, friendly folks from around the country and the world. Two nearby universities for culture, nearby small city Salisbury for all the chain stores and cinema. Three rivers, the Chesapeake Bay and Assateague Seashore with wild ponies nearby. Three hours from DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore or Williamsburg; five hours from NYC.

I was very surprised that you left out both Richmond va. and Williamsburg Va. Richmond has a great deal of rev war and founding fathers sites. also is the most significant ivil war city as it was the capitol of the Confederacy

I can't get that link to work, no matter what I do. It's flawed, which is unfortunate.
