Medicare was not designed to cover 100% of healthcare costs. It is important for those not on Medicaid to comparison shop Medicare supplement plans. A study by Weiss Ratings revealed premiums for the same medicare supplement plan cost as much as 1,300% more, the only difference being the provider. There is a new website for shopping med supp options that does not require personal information. www.medgap.com

Makin 65 this year. Main objectives:

- Stay out of Inheritance Taxes as much as possible, living in a country that makes it possible. So I will be able to give my children my money with minimum taxes.

-I am 100% against W Buffett: I can understand that maybe he was a very bad father & teacher for his children and believe that a crook government can make more with his money than their children, but this is not my case. Moreover, the only way to survive dead is to keep prosperous my genes through my children and grandchildren etc, is a kind of immortality.

-I am wealthy enough to be self insure, so I don´t have to make rich insurance companies to feel comfortable.

- I Do not pay attention to religions, since they want to make you feel bad about your wealth with the wrong idea that giving it to them they will send you to heavens. I feel well because I believe in God, but I don´t believe in any religion at all (something created my men to take advantage of them). On the other hand, they have produce so much pain for so many millenniums that is stupid to believe in something so wrong and harmful to humanity just because they say the talk in the name of “God”.

- Try to learn something new every time it is possible. I believe that as long you learn more thing that you forget you keep young.

Thanks

Far too many baby boomers like myself lost our life savings due to the drop in equity values in our homes. I lost over a quarter million dollars. My home was my life savings and because of the banks and Wall Street speculators, my life savings are gone. It's the Great American Crime Gone Unpunished. I've lost complete faith in our system and government. God help all of us...we're going to need it.

People,do you want to balance the budget in less than 5 years? The waste in every type of products we use is thrown away just because the military has a fiscal budget every year and if not used the government reduces the following fiscal budget. So what does every branch of our military do? The excess crates of new engine parts, food products, furniture used in every base in America and other foreign shores just thrown into a trash pile. When I was in Vietnam , we threw away brand new crates of helicopter engines into the ocean, and my neighbor ,who works as a custodian, throws away crates of milk into the garbage because the law does not permit the homeless to receive these cartons of milk because of lawsuits. Change the law, people,if we can spend billions on two wars, can we just investigate where the money is being spent? Please explain to me where does the money go?Comments anyone?

I am suffering from sticker shock. I did not plan to retire at the full benefit age of 66 but planned to work until I was 70. then the owner of the law firm began making changes in employee benefits about three years ago. First, you were obligated to pay your own $100 a month parking. Then you were obligated to pay your $650.00 health insurance premium. Last year, you were obligated to pay a pro-rata share of malpractice insurance which was $600.00 a month for me. Then there was the short fall in business and you were expected to contribute to the staff salaries and the office rent. Because of my elderly mother's needs and helping a sister who lost her job, my savings and 401k quickly evaporated. Did I mention the loss in equity in my home? The final crash came when the owner held a staff meeting and informed staff that he was downsizing which included the elimination of my position and a co-worker. The sticker shock comes now that I am looking at approximately $1850.00 per month social security if I want to retire as I have opened my own office. This has used up the rest of my savings. If I had retired, I planned to do only volunteer work but now I have to continue to make money to pay my mortgage, property taxes, etc. It does help to know that my health insurance won't be $650.00 per month. I guess that I am venting about how disappointed I am in my ability to turn my own economics around.

Think you forgot one thing about the payback - go back those many years and factor in what the early ss deductions were BUT IN TODAYS DOLLARS - then you can more appropriately discuss payback.
