I'm working full time and drawing benefits. How in the world do I figure the amount of tax on the benefits. It looks like we are getting taxed twice.

Also, is the $25,000-34,000 income that which is before deductions on the regular form? Do we use 1040A or 1040. I've never used itemized deductions before.

Convert the present system to a private system. The 5% X 20 Plan. Theconversion of the system would take 20 years at transfering 5% per year of the present payment each payday into an indivigual account and increase the percentage each additional year for 20 years untill only indivigual accounts exist. a sliding scale could be used to adjust the retirement for the indiviguals during the 20 year conversion. Etrishion would deleate some payments due to pre retirement deaths.

First, social security is made up of two parts; retirements, and entitlements. Lets not forget that. Also, with all of the social security monies going to recipients every month, one has to reflect on the fact that these monies are keeping the economy afloat since most all of this money is used for food, shelter, clothing, medical costs, etc. All the fatcat corporations that benefit from these consumers seem to forget this.

the goverment should pay the money they barowed from social security back in full == it was not their money its the working tax payers money. UNITED STATES GOVERMENT PAY BACK THE MONEY YOU BAROWED ITS NOT YOUR MONEY.

I am 37 and I have been fighting to get disability for over 10 years due to having a type of luekemia and I have M.S. But everyone I have talked to says you are probably too young. Now I am a little more older and shouldnt have a problem but they still fight me on it. I started the paperwork once again and all the sudden I got a letter and an e-nail stating that I "have decided to withdraw my application for disability" I hadnt even talked to anyone. I have talked to numerous lawyers and even hired one and he took off with my money. It scares me all the changes because by the time I am of age I wont get it either. I need to support my 3 kids. I cant work so how do I do that? And I cant get assistance due to my older kids working, 1 Pays for child support and the other pays for college. I have paid into SSD why cant I get it? Its so unfair. sorry about writing so much.

If only we could leave politics out of government. It might not be so expensive and it might actually be a government of the people and for the people. The government is made up of people who do not have to worry about things like whether they will have food or shelter the next day. I think before a politician can be elected into a public office that person should have to live on the budget of an average citizen who makes less than $20,000 per year. Their thoughts may change some if they walked a mile or two in those shoes.
