4 Social Security Changes Coming in 2011

Social Security was started so a Senior citizen could have an income when he became of age to retire.Most of the Seniors worked all their lives and paid into this retirement fund and the funds should be there when they get ready to draw! But,now they are saying that Social Security may run out of money in a few years.Wasn't this fund set up for the retirees and supposed to be have been secured and not to be borrowed from by our government.Since the government has borrowed from Social Security, isn't this robbing from the people who have paid into this fund?
Personally, I believe that all politicians should be held accountable who was involved in taking this money from the Social Security fund.

WHAT WAS IT 850 BILLION TO BAIL OUT THE BANKS? ARE THEY LENDING ANY MONEY? NO,BUT THEY CAN TAKE 444,000 AND SPEND IT ON A SPA RETREAT WITH NO CONSEQUENCES OR ACCOUNTABILITY.I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO YOU OR I IF WE DID THE SAME THING.BETTER YET MAYBE THEY COULD GET A 20 MILLION DOLAR BONUSES FOR SCREWING EVERYTHING UP.LETS NOT FORGET THE MORTGAGE COMPANIES EITHER AND THEIR PART IN THIS MESS.INSTEAD OF BAILING OUT THE RICH,WHY NOT BAIL OUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.GIVE EVERYONE OVER THE AGE OF 21 1 MILLION DOLLARS TO PAY OFF THEIR BAD MORTGAGES,STUDENT LOANS,AND OTHER BILLS AND PUT MONEY BACK INTO THE ECONOMY WITH CERTAIN PROVISIONS AND CONSEQUENCES,AS WELL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR SPENDING.SOUNDS LIKE A NOVEL IDEA DOESN'T IT? IT WOULD DEFFINITELY BE CHEAPER.GIVE FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS A CHANCE TO HAVE THE AMERICAN DREAM AS WELL.
IF THE GOVERNMENT REALLY WANTS TO PUT AMERICA BACK TO WORK,WHY NOT START WITH THE INFRASTUCTURE OF THIS COUNTRY. DO WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MORE PEOPLE ARE KILLED ON THE FAULTY ROADS AND BRIDGES BEFORE ACTION IS TAKEN? HOW MANY JOBS WOULD THIS CREATE? WE WOULDN'T HAVE THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE WE HAVE NOW IN THIS COUNTRY.
ALOT OF PEOPLE WANT TO BLAME THE PRESIDENT,BUT THE TRUTH IS,HE CAN ONLY DO WHAT CONGRESS LETS HIM DO.INSTEAD WE HAVE TWO PARTIES THAT WON'T GIVE AN INCH AND WANTS TO BE THE PARTY THAT HAS CONTROL OVER EVERYTHING.DOES ANYONE REMEMBER WHAT ARE GOVERNMENT WAS ESTABLISHED FOR?BY THE PEOPLE,FOR THE PEOPLE,OF THE PEOPLE.UNLESS WE GET BACK TO THIS WAY OF THINKING,WE DON'T HAVE A CHANCE.THERE IS AN OLD SAYING"MAN IS NOT ABLE EVEN TO DIRECT HIS OWN STEP."
THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T WANT THE DEBT CELING RAISED EITHER BUT THOSE SAME PEOPLE WATCHED IT RAISED BY MR.BUSH SEVEN TIMES AND BY THE WAY HOW MANY TIMES WAS IT RAISED DURING MR.REAGAN'S TIME IN OFFICE,17 TIMES? SO,LETS PUT POLITICS AND AGENDAS ASIDE AND PUT THIS COUNTRY BACK TOGETHER.ENOUGH SAID.

i dont like being on it have have no choice pepole just think because ur 33 u should have a job but after five back surg i cant get work so what are we supose to do i know pepole take advantage of it but it dont make it right

Why is the government paying people to take care of their own children with a monthly SSI payment. Years ago people didnt get paid from the government to take care of their own kids. You have families that keep having children knowing that the first two or three had issues and they look at it like another $685.00 a month from the goverment. I understand why the program was started when mothers had to stay home to take care of kids that were unable to attend school, but president GWB signed into effect the no child left behind act. That means for atleast 7 hours a day the child is in school - which in turn leaves the mother able to get a part time job atleast< but no these women feel like why would I work when I get 685 free money monthly. I understand some kids need extra nursing supplies that are not covered by medicaid each month, but a lot of times these people getting the ssi arent medically fragile. If they are then reimburse them for the supplies only, not enough money so mama can go get her hair and nails done. I guess its politically incorrect to talk about this issue but I feel its time someone spoke up

I think that if u have had a pretty consistant income of a substancial amount while working for a certain period, a reasonable one, then u should not b able to claim social security when u retire. whether u show that money in you posession or accounts or not. people probably hide the money in foreign accounts or under family or friends names and then collect.
Also i believe president and government officials should not b paid a salary after their job has ended and they are no longer working after retiring or the posistion has ended. That is what is sucking up out money and causing us to get in the whole. a good share of them dont know what the heck they are doing, especially our dumb ass president. Officials are the ones who do for the wealthy not the little person suffering to make a half decent life. The small guy should b making the laws not the big money guy. Who is gonna benefit here? yeah, big guy gonna hook himself and friends up!

Social Security benefits, entitlement, insurance or whatever term is used to
describe it shouldn't be used for anything but providing the elderly with a modest income. People who have worked for 50 years of their lives and contributed to this program along with paying Federal, State and in some cases City taxes shouldn't have to worry about getting Social Security at age 66 or later. Why should this system even be considered as a means to compensate for government over spending....big business bail outs, economic stimuleous or
an alternative to dropping tax breaks for the wealthy.

yeah i totally agree with alot of these rules on how the people that r able to work shouldnt get ssi or disability. unlike me how i cant wrk for a long period of time cause i have problems with my bk and feet and i had a learning disability growing up so..........
